I was recently in the ER and received a misdiagnosis for a serious issue regarding my vital organs. They ran a number of tests that brought my hospital bill up to well over six figures so that they could give me some Motrin and send me on my way with the wrong diagnosis. I’m glad I went to another ER for a second opinion because it may have saved my life. It seems this hospital is in the business of making money, not helping people. They were responsible for sending my father away with a diagnosis of an ulcer which later turned out to be terminal cancer. He died in at flower hospital less than a year later and we might have been able to save him if we had the right information earlier. I would avoid this place like the plague.
Been at this hospital for four hours already, for my husband who has stomach pains. It takes forever to get going , hour to get in the room, and longer to draw blood and everything they needed to do. The nurse seemed very inexperienced when it came to drawing blood, she took forever to find his veins, which were clearly visible, and four pokes later to get in his arm. An hour and half goes by and no one checks in on us and let's us know what's going on and a round about time. I preceded to go to nurses station to ask to talk to the doctor to answer my questions and see what's taking so long. Another forty minutes go by and no doctor to talk too. This by far is the most obscene hospital ever we will not be returning. Husbands iv drip finishes off hours ago and has yet to be removed from his arm. Emergency room, please, it's I don't take my patients sickness and time seriously enough. I would of gave birth already and cleaned up already for how long this place takes.
I took a friend to the emergency room. We had a great nurse Rick, very knowledgeable and kind. My problem with the experience was while my friend was having an IV placed a girl came in asking for a credit card payment right then. This was not for a bill, because she had two insurances and nothing had really been done yet. This was a payment for a bill that had yet to be generated but they wanted money right then. I was really upset by this, watching my friend try to dig through her purse at the same time they are starting an IV in her other arm. I expressed my distaste for this and was told the doctors want a paid up front. I guess it costs a lot for all the new green signs in Toledo. Glad to be a Mercy Pt.
I suffer from moderate to severe chronic back pain. (the struggle is real!) Unfortunately, when I used their ER because of a severe flare up of pain I couldn't control with my own meds I was treated as if I was an addict instead of a pain patient. :(
This past 1 1/2 year Flower Hospital had been my second home. I have been on almost every floor as a patient, and department ( ER, Hickman Center, Surgical, Maternity, Radiology, Rehab Center. I have never once encountered bad services. Every nurse , doctor, and staff of any kind has been very nice and helpful. They all deserve a medal for putting up with some of the nasty people they deal with daily.
