The Ace Hardware, in Sylvania, is awesome! GR8 merchandise, GR8 prices, wonderful & friendly staff & very convenient location for my needs. Beats the big box stores with advise & service.

I HAVE BEEN SHOPPING THERE SINCE I CAME TO SYLVANIA . AND CUTTING A KEY AND PROGRAMMING IT IS A SERVICE THEY DO. WHY SHOULD THEY GIVE YOU A DISCOUNT .. SO IF I GO OUT TO EAT AND TAKE MY OWN DISHES I SHOULD GET A DISCOUNT .. THAT ALSO MEANS I TAKE MY OWN CAR TO THE GAS STATION I WANT IT CHEAPER.. NOW WE SEE WHY BUSINESS GO OUT OF BUSINESS PEOPLE WANT TO GET EVERYTHING FOR NOTHING..

I was extremely disappointed my last trip into this Sylvania Ace Hardware. I have been a consistent repeat customer since they opened several years ago, and willingly accepted their somewhat higher prices, due to their convenience. I was however, thrown aback recently, due to their policy on key making. I have a car which has a transducer key. Their price $100. Locksmith price $40. Internet price for the key blank $5. Note that I can program the key myself in the car. No special equipment needed; just do the pedal dance. They refused to cut my key blank, stating that it was the owners policy. I was not asking them to program it. I just needed a basic cut. Ultimately I took my key to a local locksmith who cut it for $2 and came home and synced it myself. It will be a very desperate day that I walk back into this Ace. Despite their convenience, I will travel a couple miles further to Bayer Hardware or Lowes for my hardware needs. I cannot support a business- local or not- that attempts to gouge me in such an extreme manner. I would give them less than one star if this site would allow. Very disappointed.
